Villa d’Este, Lake Como
One of my favourite events of the year is always Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este in Cernobbio on the Lake Como shoreline, Located in the grounds of Villa Este and Erba it perfectly compliments the selection of cars that are competing for awards, the ambience it generates is incomparable to anything Ive been at,
Despite dates clashing with the Mille Miglia the cars on display at Este were second to none, I have to hand it to BMW Classic group because they do a great job at finding some on these stand out cars and of course its not just classics, its presentations of prototypes and concept cars that offer us a glimpse of whats to come in the next few years too.
This year the slogan of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2016 is “Back to the future, the journey continues”.
Over the weekend event, historic cars of outstanding class and with incredible stories to tell all compete for the hearts of the carefully selected jury in the various categories. As well as seeking approval from the experts, journalists and the public, whose votes determine the winners of several prizes.
